Allan Otieno is an Associate Advocate in the Firm of Lesinko Njoroge & Gathogo Advocates. He was admitted to the Bar in 2021 having received legal training in the Firm of Rachier & Amollo LLP. He holds an LLB Degree from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law. Allan practices in the Dispute Resolution Department of the Firm dealing with commercial and civil disputes and has handled various assignments touching on contract law, public law, environment and land disputes, constitutional petitions, judicial review, and employment and labour relations matters, amongst others. A well-rounded professional, Allan is an outstanding footballer and is passionate about development of sports in Kenya evident from the courses he has undertaken in Sports Law.

  • Attending Court for hearings and mentions in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Statutory Tribunals touching on varied aspects including employment and labour relations, land rights and environment, enforcement of contractual claims, constitutional petitions and judicial reviews on behalf of companies, state owned enterprises and Universities.
  • Advising Dubai International Bank (Kenya) on its banking security enforcement rights in Kenya as a secured creditor including defending proceedings instituted by Borrowers in the High Court.
  • Representing Tower Sacco in proceedings filed by a Borrower challenging Lender’s exercise of its right to realise a collateral in consequence of default.
  • Part of the team that advised and represented an Association before the Supreme Court in a claim challenging the constitutionality of the NSSF Act No.45 of 2013. Mediation
  • Participating in Court Annexed Mediation for various clients i.e. Kenya Aerospace Limited and Kenya Ecumenical Church Loan Fund (ECLOF) which ensures that disputes amongst parties are resolved much faster (if possible) thereby reducing the cost in terms of prolonged litigation and further restoring the relationships between the parties at the end of the process.   • Volunteering occasionally by carrying out free civic education to create awareness on legal issues such as constitutional matters in the Nairobi and Mombasa Counties. In addition, Allan handles divorce and child matters on a pro bono basis.
  • Advising and representing in court proceedings touching on alleged violation of the right to education. The brief entailed the interpretation of the University Charter, private contract, and applicability of Constitutional provisions to the private contract of the parties.
